WILMINGTON, N.C. - The spring season of "UNCW Sports Extra," UNC Wilmington's fast-paced television show that features a unique behind-the-scenes look at Seahawk athletics, kicks off tonight at 7 p.m. on Time Warner Cable, Channel 5.

      In conjunction with UNCW Media Productions and presented by the New Hanover Regional Medical Center, the 30-minute show airs each Monday, Thursday, Friday. Tonight's sixth show of the year and the first of five shows planned this spring includes feature stories on diver Robbie McNeill, men's tennis standout Michael Pereira, UNCW softball pitchers Amanda Aditays and Samme Lisowsky, and the department's Academic Support program.

      In addition, a special recap of the recent "Dancing With The Wilmington Stars: Seahawk Style" fund-raising event is included in the show.

      UNCW students Faiza El-Hibri and Lucas Haskins serve as anchors for the program, while Meghan Bryan, Matt Harris and Bryan Adrian provide reports from the field.

      The show also airs on UNCW-TV Channel 77 and is featured on UNCWSports.com. In addition, selected segments are placed on YouTube and Facebook.
