Anderson Selected for NCAA Championships

WILMINGTON, N.C. - Senior Rob Anderson will close out his collegiate career in style when he represents UNC Wilmington at the 2010 NCAA Men's Swimming Championships, Mar. 25-27, in Columbus, Ohio.

Anderson joins fellow senior Caitlin Kirsteier, who will swim at the NCAA Women's Championships, Mar. 18-20, in West Lafayette, Ind. With Kirsteier and Anderson making it to the NCAA championships, UNCW is one of four non-BCS schools to qualify a swimmer in both championships. Also accomplishing this feat are Harvard, SMU and Navy.

Anderson will swim in both the 50 Freestyle and 100 Breaststroke and the championships. In the 50 Free, he made the cut with a time of 19.96 seconds. In the 100 Breaststroke, though, he enters the championships ranked 19th nationally with a time of 53.53.

As a senior, Anderson has posted UNCW's fastest times in both events and won both at the Colonial Athletic Association championship in late February.
