WILMINGTON, N.C. -
UNCW returns to action on Tuesday when it continues its nine-game homestand when
it hosts Ball State in the first of two mid-week non-conference games which
also includes Wake Forest on Wednesday. Both games are slated for 4 p.m.
starts.
Both games will be video streamed for free at UNCWsports.com
through Hawk Vision. Broadcasts start at 3:45 pm for both games as Mike Vaccaro
and Joe Cardile bring you all the action live from Brooks Field.
The Seahawks halted a four-game losing skid on Sunday with
an 11-3 win over Stony Brook behind the hot hitting of Andrew Cain and Alex Hill. Both players had two hits and three runs apiece in the win. Hill
connected on his first round tripper of the season.
Daniel Cropper will make his third start of the season on
Tuesday against the Cardinals of Ball State (3-8). Cropper owns a 0-1 mark and
a 3.55 ERA through three appearances, which include a pair of starts.
Ball State, the preseason favorite to win the Mid-American Conference, enters the game having dropped three of its last
four, including a pair of one-run setbacks to nationally-ranked Coastal
Carolina. Senior Brad Piatt will draw the start for the Cardinals.
On Wednesday, UNCW hosts the Demon Deacons of Wake Forest.
Sophomore Steven Davis (0-2) will make his second start of the season while WFU
counters with freshman Justin Van Grouw (0-2).
Following the midweek action, the Seahawks will close out
the homestand with three games against Duquesne starting on Friday with a 6
p.m. start.
