UNCW Hosts College of Charleston On Saturday At Natatorium

WILMINGTON, N.C. - UNC Wilmington returns to the pool this week when it hosts long-time rival College of Charleston on Nov. 14, at 2 p.m.

The Seahawks won 5-of-6 dual meets last weekend at the Colonial Athletic Association pod meet in Newark, Del. The men (6-1, 4-0 CAA) won all three meets while the women (6-2, 3-1 CAA) won 2-of-3, with the lone loss coming to defending conference champion Towson.

Senior Rob Anderson helped the Seahawks to wins over Delaware, George Mason and Towson. Anderson won the 100 Breaststroke (57.82) and added a second-place finish in the 50 Freestyle (21.25). In relay action, he helped the 200 Freestyle Relay set a pool record with a winning time of 1:23.79 and also helped the 400 Medley Relay set a pool mark with a winning time of 3:25.21.

Senior Caitlin Kirsteier collected wins in five events, including the 100 Freestyle and 100 Butterfly. She also swam on three winning relays, including the 400 Medley Relay that set a pool record with a time of 3:51.30. Also enjoying a solid meet was freshman Hilary Fritz, who picked up wins in the 100 and 200 Backstrokes as well as swimming the lead leg of the 400 Medley Relay.

This will be the Seahawks final dual meet of the fall semester. They will head to Fairfax, Va., next weekend to participate in the Patriot Invitational.
