Ten UNCW Hoops Games To Be Televised

WILMINGTON, N.C. - Ten UNC Wilmington men's basketball games will be shown on live television in 2009-10, evenly split between home and away contests.

The Seahawks make their 2009-10 television debut on Thursday, Nov.  19, when they travel to Charleston, S.C., to battle Penn State in an opening-round game of the Charleston Classic at the College of Charleston's Carolina First Arena. The 4 p.m. tilt will be aired on ESPNU, one of two games on the national outlet this season.

Coach Benny Moss and his club then make the first of six appearances on the Mid-Atlantic Sports Network (MASN) on Saturday, Dec. 5, when the Seahawks play their Colonial Athletic Association opener against rival George Mason at Trask Coliseum.

UNCW and MASN reached an agreement two years ago to make the Baltimore-based network "The Official Cable Network" of the Seahawks. UNCW will also have games aired on ESPNU, ESPN Regional and Comcast SportsNet  during the course of the season.

The 8-year-old Seahawk TV Network will produce three games that will be aired on MASN. They include home matchups with James Madison (Jan. 23, 8 p.m.), Towson (Jan. 30, 6 p.m.) and William & Mary (Feb. 27, 8 p.m.).
