Sullivan Ties Tournament Record With Four-Under 68

DAUFUSKIE, S.C. - Ryan Sullivan tied a tournament record with a season-low four-under-par 68 in the second round to lead UNC Wilmington after two rounds at the Rees Jones Invitational at Haig Point. The Seahawks are tied for fourth, but the second round was not completed due to darkness and wet course conditions throughout the day.

Sullivan, a junior, and South Carolina's Paul Woodbury, who also fashioned a second round 68, broke the previous tournament record of 69 set last November. Woodbury holds the tournament lead by three strokes over teammate George Bryan IV. Sullivan (81-68=149) is 10th overall.

South Carolina, ranked 24th by Golfstat.com, leads the 12-team field after two rounds at four-over. UNCW, who is ranked 40th, is tied with 38th-ranked Pepperdine at 32-over. Five teams will complete their second round on Tuesday morning.

UNCW senior Derek Wallace (78-72=150) is bidding for his fourth top-10 finish of the fall, entering the final round in a tie for 11th at six-over. Wallace opened the tournament with a six-over 78, but recorded an even-par round to close out his day.

Junior Josh Brock (79-75=154) is tied for 26th, while sophomore Taylor Zimmerman (78-77=155) and freshman Stefan Brewer (81-80=161) are 28th and tied for 46th, respectively.

A pair of Seahawks are also in action with freshman Thomas Bass and junior Michael Taylor are competing as individuals at the Gordin-Myers Collegiate Classic in the Duke Golf Club in Durham, N.C. Bass (77-78=156), making his collegiate debut, is tied for 22nd overall at 11-over through two rounds. Taylor (79-80=159), meanwhile, is tied for 42nd overall at 15-over.
