Seahawk Harriers Wrap Up Season At Southeast Regionals

     CLEMMONS, N.C. ? UNC Wilmington's men finished 27th overall and the women placed 28th at the NCAA Southeast Regional Cross Country Championships Saturday at rain-soaked Tanglewood State Park.

 

      William & Mary (66) edged Virginia (67) by just one point for first place in the 29-team men's field, while Virginia (105) took the women's title over Kentucky (126) in the 33-team women's race.

 

      Sophomore Jeff Naro was UNCW's top male finisher after taking 163rd place out of 212 runners with a time of 35:03 in windy conditions on the 10K course.

 

      Senior Natalie Kilby, running her last collegiate race, was the top competitor on the women's side for the Seahawks, covering the muddy 6K layout in 23:15. Kilby was UNCW's top runner Saturday after traveling to the event as the team's alternate one year ago. She ran the final three miles with just one shoe after losing one of her shoes just 400 meters into the race.
