UNCW alum Taylor Vaughn enters his sixth season as an assistant with the UNCW men's tennis program in 2013-14.

During his five seasons with the program, the Seahawks have reached the NCAA tournament four times. UNCW captured Colonial Athletic Association championships in 2009, 2011 and 2013 and collected its first at-large berth to the NCAA Regionals in 2012.

The Seahawks have moved up the Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings each season. In 2009, UNCW upset perennial power VCU, 4-3, to win its first CAA title and title number two also came at the hands of the Rams as the Seahawks again clipped VCU, 4-3. The Seahawks claimed their third crown in 2013 by sweeping past Drexel and host William & Mary in Williamsburg, Va.

A native of New Orleans, Vaughn played two seasons with the Seahawks in 2003-04 and 2004-05. He won the Golden Seahawk Scholar Athlete Award in 2004-05, earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Health and Physical Education from UNCW in 2005, with a concentration in exercise science.

Following graduation, he joined Louisiana-Monroe's staff as an assistant coach. During his time with the War Hawks, Vaughn was responsible for recruiting, player development, and assisting in all aspects of the program.

Vaughn is married to UNCW alumnus Georgia Vaughn.

"We're very fortunate to have Taylor on our staff," says Head Coach Mait DuBois. "His passion for UNCW, as well as his shared vision of the direction of our program, is a great asset. He brings great energy and a wealth of experience to our team. He also believes in helping our players in all aspects of their life."
