WILMINGTON, N.C. ? UNC Wilmington freshman midfielder Erin Pardini has been named the Colonial Athletic Association's Women' Soccer Rookie-of-the-Week.
“Erin has already made a great impact with our team,” UNCW head coach Paul Cairney said. “She works extremely hard and has been asked to play in a few different positions so far this season. But, any time an individual receives recognition it is a reflection of our team as a whole. Therefore, the entire team shares in this award.”
Pardini collected four points on a goal and two assists in the Seahawks' three-game road swing last week. The Smithtown, N.Y., product picked up her first career point when she assisted on freshman Meagan Simeone's tally at Charlotte last Monday. She added to her totals with a goal and an assist in the Seahawks' 2-0 win at Gardner-Webb Friday evening.
Pardini's four points put her in a tie for 10th in the league in scoring while her two assists make her part of a five-way deadlock for second in that category.
The Seahawks return to action Friday when they host long-time rival East Carolina in a 7 p.m. kickoff at the UNCW Soccer Stadium.
