UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Red-shirt sophomore Connor Brooks broke an 11-year record in the 400 meters on Saturday to lead UNCW at Sykes & Sabock Challenge Cup.
Brooks' time of 48.10 seconds topped the previous record of 48.60 by Charles Shoffner in 2000.
Junior David Lindsay's second-place finish in the 60 meter hurdles was the Seahawks top finish in the meet. Lindsay posted a time of 8.08 seconds.
In the men's Triple Jump, sophomore Aerial Chatman used a leap of 14.89 meters to finish in fourth.
Sophomore Meena Reid posted a fifth-place finish in the 60 meters with a time of 7.63 seconds.
Next up for the Seahawks will be the Tiger Paw Invitational on Feb. 9-10, in Clemson, S.C.
